In this series, I tried to capture the paradox of falling whilst also in flight. Water descends with absolute commitment, without pausing or reconsidering. With that surrender, there is a strange freedom. These paintings hold both the quiet roar and the stillness that follows it, a white noise deflecting movement and the silence it carves into the rocks below. "A waterfall is one of the few places where the world is too loud for thinking. I wanted the paintings to offer the same release."
